Custom shells to 48 inches in carbon steel, 304L and 316L, duplex, Hastelloy, Alloy 20, Monel, AL-6XN or titanium, built to TEMA B, C or R with an ASME Section VIII stamp. API-660 is available on request.
This is the page for reboilers, process heaters, cooling duties and anything the stock and standard tables will not cover.
One tubesheet and a bundle that grows freely with temperature, then slides out of the shell for inspection. It is the usual answer for steam heating, wide temperature differences and a shell side that stays clean.
Steam heating of liquids is the classic U-tube duty, and every Enerquip stock unit is built this way. The bends are the limit: the inside of a U cannot be rodded straight through, so the dirtier fluid belongs on the shell side or in a straight-tube design.
Straight tubes held in two tubesheets, so every tube can be rodded from end to end. Pick it when the tube-side fluid fouls, and add an expansion joint when the shell and tube temperatures pull far apart.
Straight tubes also suit sanitary service where an inspector wants to see daylight through every tube after a wash. The shell side cannot be opened for cleaning, so keep it for steam, clean water or glycol.
A tubesheet, bundle and bonnet that slide into a tank through a flange or manway it already has, heating the whole tank at once. Tubes come bare or helically finned, with thermostat and thermowell options.
Tank terminals, chemical storage and food syrup tanks are the usual homes. Size it from the tank volume, the heat-up time the operation can accept and the heat lost through the tank walls on the coldest day.
Stock U-tube bundles and O-rings for Enerquip stock units, plus drop-in bundles built to the shell, nozzle and tubesheet dimensions of an exchanger from another maker.
A nameplate photo, a drawing or the ASME U-1 is enough for us to match one.
Every unit in this section is an Enerquip shell-and-tube design. Start with the construction that suits your duty, or send the nameplate from the unit you are replacing.
Four things decide which construction and material a duty gets. Have them ready and the quote comes back in the same terms.
Ten stock BEU configurations often ship the next business day. About 32 standard sanitary sizes typicaly ship in 6 to 8 weeks. Anything outside those tables is built to order, up to 48 inches in diameter.
For an existing unit, the nameplate is the fastest start. For a new duty, give us both fluids, the flow and the inlet and outlet temperatures.
